The ‘Sita Rama Kalyanam’ interpreted as a state festival in the old Swamy Swamy temple of Sri Kodandarama in Vontimitta in the Kadapa district on Friday turned out to be a visual delight for the tens of thousands of devotees who met in the place.

The temple, which is also called ‘EkashilanaGaram’ in view of its size of a monolithic rock, was a hive of activity after a great participation of devotees throughout the state.

The Tyrupati devasthanams (TTD), which manages the temple, made arrangements on an unprecedented scale this year.

Andhra Pradesh’s prime minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari, arrived at the temple at night, where she was received by the Minister of Endaciones Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, and the president of TTD Br Naidu and the executive officer J. Syamala Rao, among others.

The priests welcomed the prime minister with the usual ‘Poorna Kumbham’ and took him to the temple. Carrying the ‘Silk Vastrams’ in his head, the prime minister arrived in a great procession to the temple and formally handed the priests, who adorned the same with Lord Kodandarma ahead of the Kalyanam.

Mr. Naidu and his entourage sacrificed the prayers of Mr. Rama in the Sanctorum sanctuary, after which he was presented with a ‘Sesha Vastram’ on behalf of the temple. The academics made “Vedasirvachanams” a mark of blessings for the main minister.

The heavenly wedding later began in the ‘Kalyana Vedika’ located near the temple, where the deities of Mr. Kodandarma and the goddess Sita were taken to the stage. The elaborate wedding rituals ended up with Lord Rama linking the TPTials.

The dazzling arrangements of series lighting, the installation of LED screens to easy facilitation to see for devotees and the flight drones flight played a new maximum this year.

This time special counters opened to distribute the famous ‘Mutehhyala Thalambralu’ (pearls used for the wedding) to the devotees in a way without problems. In view of the wedding, the traffic remained with letters interrupted on the Trupati-Hyderabad road.
