Condemning the recent increase of ₹ 50 in the domestic prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), members of the Association of Democratic Women of India (AIDWA) and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) at the head of the Brant office.
The protesters said that the price of a national LPG cylinder of 14.2 kg had increased from ₹ 803 to ₹ 853, striving domestic budgets, particularly among low -income families.
As part of the demonstration, women created a LPG cylinder, wore black veils and sat around them singing oppression (A traditional regret), symbolically crying the growing cost of basic products.
The protest was directed by the Secretary of the District of Aidwa Saraswathi and Dyfi’s Secretary of District, Sethupathy.
The member of the CPI Central Committee (M) K. Balabharathi criticized the economic policies of the center, stating that they had deepened the financial burden on women and homes of the working class. He demanded an immediate reversal of the increase in prices of ₹ 50 and urged the government to take measures to control inflation, especially with respect to essential articles such as cooking gas, food and fuel.
