Nagpur factory explosion death toll climbs to five; several injured

The number of deaths in the explosion in a factory of manufacturing aluminum products in the Nagpur district increased to five on Saturday (April 12, 2025) after two workers wounded critically succumbed to burn injuries, police said.

Five others are receiving treatment in a hospital.

The explosion occurred on Friday (April 11, 2025) at 7 pm in MMP Aluminum Industries at Umred Midc in the Nagpur district.

“Two seriously injured workers admitted to the Medical College and Hospital Government in Nagpur died of burns on Saturday, while three workers were found dead in the company after the fire was extinguished,” said a police inspector.

The deceased workers, all in the age group from 20 to 25 years, were residents of the Nagpur district.
