A pregnant woman died in a private hospital not registered in this district after surgery, which led the police to reserve three doctors for “negligence” positions and the administration to recommend the sealing of the installation.
Medical Director (CMO) Dr. Sanjay Sharma said PTI On Saturday (April 12, 2025) that the unregistered medical center called Nandini Hospital was being operated at Shahpur Jot under the Kotwali Dehat police station.
“In her complaint before the CMO office, Suraj Tiwari, resident of the Shravasti district, said she had received her pregnant sister Manna Devi admitted to the hospital on March 29 and she underwent surgery.
The hospital operator, Dr. Dk Vishwakarma, received a notice while hospital doctors were summoned along with the hospital records.
Since the local administration did not receive any response, a team from the State Health Department made a surprise inspection of the hospital on April 3. Seeing that government vehicles arrived at the hospital, their operator closed the doors and fled, authorities said.
Police sources said that in the complaint of the family members of the deceased, a case was recorded on April 8 against Dr. Vishwakarma, Dr. RK Singh and Dr. Preeti Sharma under section 106 (1) of BNS (causing death by negligence).
“A recommendation has been made to seal the elderly home. There is a residential complex within the elderly home, so it is not possible to seal it without complying with the operator.
“The elderly home is closed now and a notice has been sent to its operator, Dr. Vishwakarma, not to operate the hospital without departmental permission,” said the CMO.
