The Superior Court of Calcutta ordered on Saturday the deployment of the Central Armed Police forces (CAPF) in the Murshidabad District of Western Bengal, after three people died in communal clashes and violent protests on the recently promulgated WAQF law.
At a hearing on Saturday (a holiday in the court), the Bank of the Division of Judges Soumen Sen and Raja Bassu Chowdhury observed that the court does not sit with his eyes closed in such situations and that the central forces of the wood interaction.
BJP leader moves the court
Early in the day, the BJP MLA and the leader of the opposition in the Western Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, transferred to the Superior Court in search of the deployment of the central forces and requested the restoration of normality in the state, after the protests against the passage of the WAQF law (amendment), 2025, in Parliament.

“It is a weak for the mammate government. It is a great weak to [Director General of West Bengal Police] Rajev Kumar, who is loyal to Mamata Banerjee, ”said Adhikari after the order was approved.
He said that the BJP wanted to protect people and preserve the peace of the State and, therefore, sought the deployment of the central forces.
On Saturday, a senior police officer confirmed The Hindu That two people had lost their lives in community violence in Murshidabad, and a person had died from injuries suffered by a shot in the Suti area of the district.
Currently, at least six border security force companies (BSF) have been deployed in Murshidabad, along with a large number of police personnel.
118 arrested
At least 118 people were arrested in relation to the fire, the destruction of public property and the violence of the mafia that developed in Suti and Shamsherganj in Murshidabad on Friday night, the Director General of Addital Police (Law and Order) Javed said he said.
Internet services have been suspended and section 163 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita has been imported in the region.
This incident occurs immediately after the violence of the mafia and the fire caused in the Murshidabad Jangipur area on April 8 on the WAQF law, which leads to the judgment of at least 22 people.
