Thiruvananthapuram Police crackdown on spas in anti-drug operation

The City Police carried out surprise inspections in spas and massage halls throughout the state capital on Sunday, in the midst of Conerns increasing in illegal activities, including traffic or narcotics substances.

The raids come following a large drug fall last week, in which the Atattingal police arrested three people, including an employee or a spa in Kazhauttom, for alleged possession or 52 grams of MDMA.

The researchers suspect that the woman, a native of Palakkad, is a key figure in a larger drug network that operates through spa in the region. It was arrested with a racket known for the synthetic drug trafficking of Bengaluru.

The repression was stimulated by a special branch report that warns about the potential trade of drugs and other shaded treatment that is carried out under the appearance of spa and well -being services. The report also indicated possible labor violations, including hiring the minor personnel and employee exploitation, especially in establishments frequented by tourists.

In a coordinated operation, the police teams inspected around 25 establishments in Thiruvananthapuram, including locations in Kovalam, Thampanoor, Medical College and Kazhakuttom. The facilities were randomly chosen, official sources said.

While a great smuggling activity or illegal duration was not discovered, it was discovered that a spa in Thampanoor was operating without a mandatory registration of the Thirvananthapuram corporation. Police have declared that the civic body will be notified by appropriate action against the unregistered establishment.

The Chief of Police of the District (city of Thiruvananthapuram) Thomson José said that inspections were organized to a wide range of illegal activities. The operation was also carried under the scope of the ongoing anti-marrow campaign. ‘

He added that the special impulse is not a unique measure, but will be part of a sustained effort to ensure that the spas and similar well -being centers work within the legal framework.

“We will continually see and examine such facilities. This special impulse will be a continuous process,” he said.
