42,000 houses built under PM Awas Yojana to be handed over to beneficiaries in Karnataka

The Karnataka government will deliver 42,345 houses to the beneficiaries, Khan said in Hubballi on April 13.

He told reporters that the Slum Karnataka Development Board is building 1,300 houses in twin cities. A total of 1,80,253 houses were sanctioned by the Slum Karnataka Development Board. Each house costs ₹ 7.50 Lakh.

The central government will provide ₹ 1.50 Lakh as a subsidy under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The state government will provide ₹ 1.20 Lakh as a subsidy to general beneficiaries, and ₹ 2 Lakh to SC, ST beniciaries.

“Until ₹ 5 Lakh was being provided by the Karnataka government for each house,” said Prasad Abbayya. 6,000 million rupees were released to the Slum Karnataka Development Board in phases.
