A bicycle and automobile rally was a hero in Adilabad on Monday, to commemorate the anniversary of the birth of Dr. Br Ambedkar. The rally also served as a platform to condemn the WAQF bill (amendment), now a law approved by the central government led by BJP.
Amir Ali Khan, a member of the Legislative Council, who directed the demonstration said: “The WAQF (amendment) bill is a weapon addressed to the Muslims of marginalization and strip them of their personal laws and property rights. This attack is the Tertack Atack of Danger, other communities in the future.”
He stressed that Congress firmly opposed this legislation, which believes that it violates article 25 of the Constitution, the right to freedom of religion and undermines the very idea of India. Muslims urged and citizens worried from the whole country to go on the roads, organize protests and build public pressure to force the government of modi to reverse the act.
