Andhra Pradesh’s prime minister, N. Chandababu Naidu, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to well -being and educational empowerment of the Dalits.

Going to a public meeting on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Br Ambedkar, in the Constitution of Ponnekallu or Tadikonda in the district of Guntur on Monday, Mr. Naidu announced the resurgence of the Education scheme abroad of Ambedkar to support SC students to pursue higher education abroad.

Mr. Naidu said that quality education was the basis of social equality and declared plans to establish more residential schools for SC students. Remembering the socio -political contributions of Dr. Ambedkar, the prime minister said: “Ambedkar was not just a leader for a community, it was a guide light for all India. His vision of equality is what we are committed to realization.”

Citing the success of the TDP government, Mr. Naidu mentioned that between 2014 and 2019, around 7,000 students benefited from the scheme, with ₹ 467 million rupees spent on it. This contrasts with the previous administration of YSRCP, which supported only 430 students, calling it a sign of their lack of group for the poor.

The prime minister also spoke virtual with beneficiaries such as Korivi Mouselatha, now network engineer in Australia, and Anil, an engineer in Canada, who expressed a deep gratitude for the scheme.

“His success is a symbol of our government’s commitment. Now, he urges him to adopt disadvantaged families in his cities of origin as part of our P4 initiative,” Mr. Naidu told them.

Amaravati development

Reaffirming his vision to Amavati, Mr. Naidu said his government was working to transform him into a world class city, after years of negligence and politicization by the previous regime. “With people’s blessings, we will rebuild Andhra Pradesh and ensure inclusive growth,” he said.

When claiming that the previous YSRCP government had tried to destroy Amaravati, the prime minister said that the Government of the NDA was committed to developing the capital city. He announced that all the main educational institutions in the country were going to establish their branches in Amaravati.
