A sudden downpour followed by a hail storm and heavy gala uprooted the trees along the Chittoor-Putur road in several sections of Sri Raraja Puram on Monday night.

The heavy rains whipped the region from Kotapalli Mitta to Ksheera Sagaram or GD Nelllore and SR Puram Mandals. In the Nlavai village, several trees were uprooted and fell through the road, blocking the traffic for several hours. Police deployed land lands to clear the blockages.

Meanwhile, hail storm led to heat conditions picked up in the oriental streams of Chittoor. It is also expected to have damaged the mango harvest in some villages. The power supply was also interrupted in the boxes of the villages through SR Puram Mandal.
