A 35 -year -old woman was strangled to death, supposedly by her husband, in Kenichira, near Panamaram, in the Wayanad district on Monday (April 14, 2025). The victim was identified as Manchira Lisha.

Her husband Jilson, 42, who tried to commit suicide after the alleged murder was admitted to the Kozhikode Medical College hospital. The incident took place early in the morning. His two children were also there at home.

Police sources said they were some financial problems that led to the shocking incident. The woman was strangled to death using a load cable, they said.

It was a group of local people who took Jilson to the hospital after noticing some messages from strange social networks from him. There were deep cuts in their wrist, the sources said.

Those in trouble or suicidal trends can contact Thanal, a center to make friends with people instituted by the Indian Medical Association in Kozhikode. Telephone: 04952-760000
