Railway Police Nab Lucknow Man Using ‘Sleep’ Trick To Steal From Passengers

The railway police arrested Sufiyan for stealing mobile phones and value objects of the passengers while intended to sleep. He was caught with three stolen phones worth RS 45,000

The railway police arrested a man for stealing mobiles, wallets and other valuables of passengers while pretending to sleep. The Government Railway Police (GRP) Charbagh arrested the suspect, Sufiyan, who had devised this unusual method to steal other travelers.

Sufiyan, a resident of Shaheed Nagar in Hussainganj in Luckknow, was arrested a campaign to curb robbery, theft, poisoning and smuggling of drugs in trains and in the railroad stations. It was found in possession of three stolen mobile phones, valued at approximately RS 45,000.

Duration, Sufiyan revealed that he would address trains, sit or lay near the passengers, and pretend to be Ax Sleep. Once their goals fell asleep, steal their mobiles, wallets and other value objects.

He admitted having stolen one of the mobile phones about nine months ago from a moving train at the Charbagh train station, on a route from Delhi to Chhapra. He had come to Charbagh to sell the stolen mobile.

Another phone was stolen eight months ago from Amarnath Superfast Express (15654) that had been away from Moradabad. Recently, without money, both devices had come to sell.

In addition, he confessed to steal a third phone two months ago from 12391 Shramjeevi Express who was traveling to Moradabad.

The GRP had a leg looking for Sufiyan for some time and finally stopped him. Multiple cases have a registered leg against him, highlighting his notoriety.

Indian Railways continues to carry out special campaigns to guarantee the safety of passengers in trains, with the railway protection force (RPF) actively participating.
