The 2015 Karnataka Census revealed around 2 Lakh of people without care of their caste, and 3,755 people provided caste names that do not appear in the government list

In a recent approved report of the state cabinet, he has revealed that the socioeconomic and educational survey carried out in Karnataka in 2015, approximately 2 Lakh of people declared that they do not know their caste name.

Both voccalas and lingayats, two main communities in Karnataka, have expressed Conerns through their religious leaders or apex bodies, labeling the survey as “non -scientific.” They argue that numerous households were excluded from the survey, promising their demand for rejection and beginning of a new complete survey.
