India is expected to experience the duration of the rain above normal next season of the Monzón, according to the Department of Meteorology of India (IMD).
M Ravichandran, secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, said Tuesday that the monsoon is expected to reach 105% of the long -term average this year. The standard monzón metric is between 96-104%; 105% is above normal.
It is unlikely that the conditions of El Niño, which contribute to the monsoon below normal in the Indian subcontinent, also develop this year, said the meteorological department of India.
The forecast is likely to provide relief to the agricultural sector of India, which contributes 18 percent to the country’s GDP, since rain is expected to increase crops and support the economy.
The usual southwest monsoon arrives in Kerala around June 1 and retires in mid -September, a voltage almost three and a half months.
