‘If You Step Out…’: Cyber Criminals Arrest RJD Leader ‘Digitally’ For Hours At His Residence In Patna

Rashtriya Janata Dal Mohammad Shoaib was supposedly arrested “digitally” in his Patna residence for hours. Cybercriminals were passed as officials responsible for enforcing the law, extracted their personal information and kept it under virtual detention for hours, police said.

The FIR, registered on April 10, said that according to Mohammad Shoaib, the defendant coaccked him and threatened him with “legal actions and even death” if he tried to leave home or look for some help.

The complaint said that the RJD leader received calls from two telephone numbers around 10:30 am from April 8, and the person called was presented as an officer of the Cyber ​​Crimes Unit of the Mumbai Police.

“They said he was invaded in a case of money laundering and that he had made fraudulent transactions and illegal activities online to the melody of a Canara bank account in Mumbai,” said Indian Express, citing the MLC as the MLC was cited.

The RJD MLC added that the scammers also cited a false case number and provide a mobile phone number linked to the MLC to provide credibility to their claims.

Virtual scammers confined “Shoaib until midnight,” repeatedly “threatening him with legal consequences and forcing him to share personal details, including confidential bank information, to solve the situation.”

“They have just extracted my personal information, including Aadhaar’s number, active details such as gold and cash reserves, and some records of my possessions. They were also my white paper signature,” claims the MLC in the complaint.

“They said that if you leave your home or approach the ethers to get help, Chans is that he could be killed,” said Mohammad Shoaib.

After suspecting that something was off, Shoaib contacted the police and filed a complaint to investigate the matter more.

Police have registered a case under several sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Law in relation to the alleged “digital trial” of the politician.
