The Ministry of External Affairs said that Pakistan had no Locus Standi to comment on the internal matter of India and highlighted Islamabad’s own failures of protecting minorities.

India drastically rejected Pakistan’s “motivated and unfounded comments on the WAQF (amendment) law, which recently entered into force in India. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Pakistan did not have an internal place of Locus Standi and should observe its own abysmal record to protect minority rights.
“We strongly reject the motivated and unfounded comments made by Pakistan on the WAQF amendment law promulgated by the Parliament of India. Pakistan does not have a locus standi to comment on an internal matter to India. Pakistan would do better to look at his own abysmal record when he comes to protect the rights of minorities, instead of the predetermination of others, Randhir Stategal.
The WAQF amendment law, 2025, which was authorized by both Chambers of Parliament in early April after two days of marathon debates, and the native of President Droupadi Murmu, entered into force last week. Its objective is to optimize the management of WAQF properties (assets permanently donated by Muslims for religious or charitable purposes) with provisions to safeguard heritage sites and promote social welfare.
