Summer camp in Mysuru seeks to blend children with nature

A fifteen-day summer camp entitled ‘Parisara Besux’ is being organized by NGO V-care based in MySuru to combine children with nature. There are no fairy for this camp.

The summer camp, which was on April 13, has been exposing children from migrant families, tribes, marginal neighborhoods, government schools, as well as middle -class families, to a variety of activities that range from theater, song, painting, magic and puppet shows.

Although V-Care has carried out summer camps for children and women in its facilities in Hotagalli in Mysuru over the past 12 years, the two-week camp is on the subject of the environment. The slogan of the camp is ‘Let’s Green – Let’s Breathe’.

The founder of the V-Care Foundation, Kumudini Achi, said that participants come from various origins, including children from forest tribal areas, children from urban sanitation workers, as well as children from organizations such as Odenadi and Good Wish. Meals and snacks are provided to children at no cost.

A total of 65 children participate in the summer camp whose activities and events also include dance drama, Yakshagana, clay art, public speaking skills, popular songs, documentaries, visits to museums and activities on reptiles and bird conservation.

The summer camp is scheduled to conclude on April 27.
