11 cadres of banned outfits arrested in Manipur

The Security Forces arrested 11 Cadad of three banned outfits of the districts of Thoubel, Tengnoupal, Imphal East and Imphal West of Besive Manipur, police said Wednesday (April 16, 2025).

These people, most of whom were collected on Tuesday (April 15), were supposedly involved in extortion.

Four Cadded of the KCP (Apunba City Meitei) were arrested by Salungpam Mamang Leikai in the district of Thoubbal.

Police reports that the A.32 gun with magazine and three round rounds, and three hand grenades recovered from their possession.

Police collected three members of the Kangleipak ​​Revolutionary Socialist Party (Sorepa) from Waithou Chiru in the Imphal East district.

An active member of the KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) was arrested from the Lamphel area in the Imphal West district.

The central forces also arrested three cars from the United National Liberation Front (UNLIM-K) of the neighborhood of the Border Pilar 81 near Moreh Town in the Tengnoupal district on Monday (April 14).

Around 260 people lost their lives and Miles were homeless since ethnic violence between Meitei broke out, based in Imphal Valley, and Kuki Communities, based in Hills, in May 2023.

The clashes begged after a ‘march of tribal solidarity’ organized in the districts of Hill to protest against an order of the Superior Court of Manipur for the demand of the MEITEI community of programmed tribe status.

The President’s rule in Manipur was imposed on February 13, 2025 after the then principal minister N. Biren Singh resigned on February 9. The State Assembly, which has a possession until 2027, has a suspended animation.
