At least 22 Naxalites, 12 or they carry an accumulated reward of RS 40.5 Lakh, surrendered to the security forces in the Chhattisgarh Sukma district on Friday, police said.
The body, including nine women, were delivered to the senior police officers and the police forces of the Central Reserve (CRPF), citing disappointment with the ideology and atrocities of Maoist “hollows” and “inhuman” in the local tribes, Sukma said.
The official said they were also impressed by the ‘Niyad Nellanar’ scheme of the state government (its good village), aimed at facilitating development work in remote villages and the new policy of surrender and rehabilitation.
The Naxalites delivered were active in the divisions of Maoist of Maoist (Chhattisgarh) and Nuapada (Odisha), he said.

He said that the other surrendered cadader was also involved in multiple attacks against security forces.
The District Police, the District Reserve Guard (DRG), CRPF and its Elite Cobra unit played a crucial role in their surrender, he said.
All Naxalites delivered were proportional assistance from RS 50,000 each and will be further rehabilitated according to government policy, he said.
Last year, 792 Naxalitas had surrendered in the Bastar region, which included seven districts, including Sukma.
