An increase in cross -border infiltration activity has been a great security concern, since multiple operations in triptura have exposed a changing modus operandi by the infiltrates of Bangladesh and their Indian collaborators.
Once limited to isolated attempts, infiltration through the state of the northeast of the triptura has now become more structured and organized, the sources say. Researchers believe that what was previously administered by local agents is now supported by a broader Panindia network.
This change was highlighted by the sentence of Sumendra Pal, a 22 -year -old from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, who was arrested along with three others, including a national Bangladesh, at the Agrasta train station on Wednesday. The group had planned to travel by train to Kolkata and then to Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai, police said.
Based on a Jinttala Ferrovarium (GRPS), Railway Protection Force (RPF), Border Security Force (BSF) and Intelligence Units, four people were applied:
- Mehedi Hasan (33) – Faridpur, Bangladesh
- IQBAL HOSSAIN (21) – Fitra Madhypara, Gomti District, Tripura
- RIAZ HOSSAIN (19) – Fitra Madhyyara, Gomti district, tripture
- Sumendra Pal (22) – Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh
They were intercepted at the Agartala train station after entering India illegally from Bangladesh and, according to the reports, they were on their way to Kolkata. A case has been registered at the Agartala GRP Police station, and the suspects are being questioned even more.
In a separate operation, two women from Bangladesh – -Nadia Akhtar Mim (19) or Barisal and Rupali Akhtar (38) or Manikganj, were also arrested at the same railway station. The authorities recovered iPhones and a significant amount of Indian currency of them, indicating the use of modern communication devices and cash to facilitate their movements.
“They were planning to travel to Mumbai through Kolkata with the help of Indian agents,” said a police source. A dedicated team of official GRP women leads the investigation in their case.
A much more alarm rape was discovered in the Amjad Nagar area near Belonia last week, where seven Bangladesh nationals illegally crossed the border, evading security in three separate border advances (BOPS). A secret warning led to the interception of a Maruti Eeco Blanco at the Manurmukh Table Chowmuhani Naka control point, with seven citizens of Bangladesh and an Indian driver on board.
The arrested include:
- Robin Hossain (29)
- Mohammad Rafi (25)
- Amjad Hossain (27)
- Shahidur Jjaman (28)
- Fazal (24)
- Rehan Mollah (21)
- Gias Uddin (35)
The driver of the vehicle, Raju Biswas, was also arrested. The group admitted to crossing India with the help of Indian agents in exchange for money. The authorities recovered seven Android phones, a keyboard phone, RS 1.64 Lakh in Indian currency and 1.01 Lakh Bangladeshi Taka.
They are currently under a five-day police prison, and one case (No. Belonia PS-27/25) has registered in sections 61 (2)/143 (3) and the IPP law. The Belonia Court of CJM has sent them to 12 days of judicial custody, with the next hearing scheduled for April 24, 2025.
