Four-year old boy dies at Kerala’s Konni elephant camp after concrete pillar falls on him

In a tragic incident, a four -year -old boy at the Konni Elephant Camp on Friday (April 18, 2025) after a concrete post fell on him.

The incident occurred around 12 in the afternoon, while Abhiram, a resident of Kadambad, Adoror, visited the camp with his family.

According to the reports, the young man played with an almost high height post when he suddenly collapsed, hitting him. The accident was caused by one of the pillars installed as part of the beautification of the elephant camp. Police said the pillar was not appropriate.

Abhiram was immediately transferred to a nearby hospital and transferred by subferefferent to another hospital in Pathanamthitta, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his wounds.

The Konni police have registered a case of unnatural death, and the elephant camp was temporarily closed after the accident.

The forest minister, AK Sasenedran, has sought a report on the incident. The minister also said that strict action will be tasks against those who were negligent.
