The Government is exploring to join Tamil Nadu on the issue of the Government of the Union retention of funds under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, said Minister of Education General V. Sivanktty.
At a press conference here on Tuesday, the minister said the State was considering conversations with Tamil Nadu Education on the subject without delay.
The minister said he had had conversations with the Minister of Education of the Dharmendra Pradhan Union in New Delhi and that the tasks were formed at the meeting of the General Council of the National Council for Educational Research and Training. He expressed the demands and apprehensions of the State, particularly following the retention of the participation of the union government of the centrally sponsored schemes.
The Government of the Union had with hero ₹ 1,500.27 million rupees due to the State. This included ₹ 514.54 million rupees due to Samagra Shiksha, Kerala for 2024-25; ₹ 276 million rupees for 2023-24; ₹ 392.73 million rupees for 2025-26; and PM-Shri participation of ₹ 318 million rupees for 2025-26.
The funds were not sanctioned since the State had not signed the agreement to implement the PM-Shri scheme. However, the Government of the Union was not informing the state of this in writing.
The general lawyer’s opinion would also be sought in the matter, said the minister.
