The United States terminated more export controls on Tuesday on advanced computer semiconductors, responding to the calls of the countries that said they were expelled from the crucial technology necessary to develop artificial intelligence.

The so -called “IA dissemination rule”, which took effect on May 15, was part of a series of tasks of the then president Joe Biden just before leaving office in January that sought to make Beijing access advanced technology.

“The Trump administration will seek a bold and inclusive strategy to share American the technology with foreign confidence countries around the world, while maintaining technology outside the hands of our adversaries,” he said under the Secretary of Commerce and Security.

Kessler criticized the approach of the previous administration, adding: “We reject the Biden administration attempt to impose their own policies of bad and counterproductive to the US people.”

Washington has expanded its efforts in recent years to stop the exports of state -of -the -art chips to China, worried that the thesis can be used to advance the military systems of Beijing and undermine US domain in AI.

Biden’s proposal rule aimed at avoiding the supply of Chips to China from other countries.

The Commerce Department said the rule has damaged American innovation and diplomatic relations with numerous countries that would have bone “degraded to second level status.”

The rule divided the countries of the world into three levels, and each level has its own level of restrictions.

The first level countries, such as Japan and South Korea, would have continued without facing export restrictions, while level 2 regions, which included countries such as Mexico and Portugal, would have a limit on the amount of chips they could recite.

Some US legislators feared that the limit would have encouraged countries to go to China for AI chips, stimulating the development of the vanguard technology superpower.

Chips manufacturers, including Nvidia and AMD, pressed against staggered restrictions and saw that the prices of their actions increased last week when the Trump administration indicated that it would reconsider the rule.

As an alternative, the Commerce Department reminded the AI actors to use Huawei Asce, the most advanced chip of the Chinese technological giant, violated US export controls.

He also issued a warning on possible consultations to allow the US chips to be used to train the Chinese models of AI.
