Ashwin’s Final Over in IPL

On August 27, 2025, Indian cricket fans were surprised by the news that Ravichandran Ashwin is retiring from the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ashwin is known as a smart cricket player and a great spinner, so his IPL career is definitely one of the best we’ve seen.

Ashwin wasn’t just any spinner in the IPL; he was a real leader on the field. His diverse bowling styles, clever tactics, and knack for understanding batters made him a top-quality player. By the time he finished his IPL career, he had taken 187 wickets in 221 matches. That puts him at number five for the most wickets taken in the IPL. Each wicket shows how skillful, patient, and smart he is when it comes to cricket. Ashwin’s time with Chennai Super Kings, where he played under MS Dhoni, was only the beginning. He became an important player for teams like Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals. His career demonstrates what hard work and adaptability can achieve. He frequently scored crucial runs and stepped up in key moments, not just with his bowling.

Ashwin’s not stopping T20 just because he’s leaving the IPL. He’s thinking about playing in other leagues worldwide. So, fans might still catch him playing in different places.
Ashwin leaving the IPL is a real loss. He’s not just a bowler, but someone who really understands the game. I think he will keep inspiring cricket fans for a long time.
