Have raised important ideological, governance issues: Sachin Pilot

The political crisis in Rajasthan seems to have blown over for now, with Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Monday returning to the party fold after the intervention of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
“We raised ideological as well as governance issues and it was important to highlight them in the interest of the party,” Sachin Pilot said after meeting the three-member panel set up by Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi to hear the grievances of the rebels. “We raised issues of principles before Congress leadership and welcome their assurance of time-bound redressal of our grievances,” Pilot said.
It was important to solve the issues to keep the promises made to the people of Rajasthan, he said. Pilot did express surprise at some of the remarks made during the crisis, an obvious hint at the sharp comments like “Nikamma and Nakara”(useless) and by chief minister Ashok Gehlot. “Several things were said, I heard a lot of things. I was surprised by a few things that were said. I think we should always maintain restraint and humility. There is no place for personal malice in politics,” Pilot said.
The crisis, which exposed the deep differences between the two leaders, will now be resolved by the three-member panel which includes Priyanka Gandhi, Ahmed Patel and KC Venugopal.
Amid speculations about his role after the truce, Sachin Pilot said, “I don’t crave for any post, party has given the position and can take it back.”
