New ‘inverse vaccine’ shows potential to treat multiple sclerosis, diabetes: Study

Researchers at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering have developed a new type of “inverse vaccine” that can reverse autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis and type 1 diabetes. Unlike traditional vaccines that teach the immune system to attack viruses or bacteria, this vaccine removes the immune system’s memory of a specific molecule.
