Total Lunar Eclipse 2025 Date

Stargazers throughout the world will be enthralled by a stunning total lunar eclipse, sometimes referred to as a “Blood Moon,” on March 14, 2025.

When Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, the Earth’s atmosphere filters off shorter light wavelengths, giving the Moon its characteristic red color. This is an uncommon astronomical phenomena.

Despite the fact that the event is expected to be a spectacular spectacle, India will not be able to witness the entire lunar eclipse because to its daylight timing.

Total Lunar Eclipse 2025 Time

The eclipse is scheduled to start at 9:27 am IST, peak at 12:28 pm IST, and end at 3:30 pm IST. The Moon will not be visible to Indian observers during these hours since it will be below the horizon.

However, live streaming will be accessible on a number of social media sites, giving Indians who are keen to see this celestial event the opportunity to do so in real time.

The complete eclipse, which will continue for more than 65 minutes, will be most visible across North and South America for the finest viewing experience. On March 13, 2025, the eclipse will start at 11:57 p.m. EDT and finish at 6:00 a.m. EDT on March 14.

The “Total Eclipse” is scheduled to start at 2:26 am EDT and end at 3:31 am EDT (06:26 to 07:31 UTC), according to the Times of India. The Moon will become reddish during this time, which will make it an amazing spectacle.

East Asia will experience the eclipse at moonrise, while parts of Europe will watch it at moonset, in addition to the Americas. Parts of Africa and Australia will also be able to see the event.

Indian astronomy fans can anticipate a full lunar eclipse that will be viewable countrywide on September 7-8, 2025, even if this eclipse won’t be visible in their country. Stargazers have another chance to take in the phenomena outside of the daytime hours with this approaching eclipse.

With follow-up eclipses planned for September 8, 2025, March 3, 2026, and August 28, 2026, this total lunar eclipse is the first of a tetrad series. Sky-watchers will have more opportunities to see these magnificent celestial spectacles in the upcoming years as a result of these eclipses.
