Olectra Greentech, based in Hyderabad, has assured an order for 297 electric buses not conditioned in the 9 meters of the Himachal Road (HRTC) transport corporation.
The total order is valued at ₹ 424 million rupees, which makes it the acquisitions of electric buses of a single larger state under the absolute purchase model, by a state transport corporation, in the country, the company said in a statement on Wednesday (April 9, 2025).
Special designed to navigate the challenging mountain lands of Himachal Pradesh, electric buses offer a capacity of 30 passenger seats and can travel to 180 kilometers with a single load. The deployment marks a great step forward in the promotion of clean and sustainable public transport in the country.
“We are delighted to receive the first and greatest absolute order of India for electric buses. Our continuous approach is to expand our manufacturing capacity and improve our technological advantage,” said Olectra Greench CMD KV Pradep.
Olectra formally received the prize letter (LOA) from the executive director of HRTC, Muchi Lal, said the company.
