Calicut varsity organises Chemistry camp for schoolchildren

The Department of Chemistry of the University of Calicut and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), London, the United Kingdom, organized a three -day camp on its campus in Tenhipalam in the Malappuram district as of April 8.

According to a launch, 75 class IX students of nearby schools, chosen with the support of Samagra Shiksha Kerala, attended the camp. He is named after Yusuf Hamied, an Indian originating president and non -executive president of the CIPLA pharmaceutical company, whose donations allow the CSR to execute the camps for free under his ‘inspiring science program’ in India.

The participants carried out experiments in the chemistry laboratories under the supervision of senior volunteers, quoted at conferences by members of the faculty of the department’s faculty, and learned about chemistry and its impact on human life through demonstrations and films. Participants were provided with protection equipment such as laboratory coats, safety glasses and free shoes.
