
Minister R. Gandhi and collector Ju Chandrakala marking bus services on Thursday
Travelers in the villages of interior agriculture in Ranipet can now travel on 10 new routes, since bus services that connect Bengaluru and Chennai with Tiverpattur, Velore, Arcoot and Ranipet were introduced on Thursday.
Accompanied by the collector Juan Chandrakala, Minister of Manual and Textiles, the Khadi and Village R. Gandhi Board pointed out the bus services on new routes that relieved hundreds of travelers in the villages of the district. “The objective of the new bus services is to ensure that women and other travelers, mainly farmers, get access to large cities in their villages,” said S. Ganopathy, general manager, Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Velore Region)
Of the 10 new routes in the district, Mofussil’s bus services on five routes, including Chennai – Bengaluru and Arco – Hosur, through the cities of Sholinghur, Walajah, ArcoT and Velore. Each of these cities is surrounded by more than 50 agricultural and remote villages.
Buses are presented for five new routes for city buses, including a free bus travel scheme called Vidiyal Payanam. These new routes are Sholinghur – Arakkonam; Katpadi – Arcot; Arcot – Mambakkam; ARCOT – Panapakkam and Katpadi – Walajah. These routes cover most agricultural villages around.
TNSTC officials said that currently 51 Mofussil buses and 64 municipal buses are operated from two bus deposits, Namellamente Walajah and Arakkonam in the district. Previously, 10 additional Moffusil bus services and four bus services in the city were introduced a few years ago based on the demands for travelers.
