The former CEO of Waste Management and current member of the Board of Fedex, David Steiner, has been selected to be the 76th CEO of Correos and CEO of the country by the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service.

“It is an incredible honor to be asked to lead the world’s largest postal organization, with a story that dates back before the United States foundation,” Steiner said in a statement.

Steiner was president and CEO of Waste Management for 12 years, from 2004 to the end of 2016. CNBC reports that Steiner will leave the Fedex Board (has been there since 2009). Start in your new role in July.

“I deeply admire the public service and commercial mission of this incredible institution, and I firmly believe in maintaining its role as an independent establishment of the executive branch,” Steiner said. “I hope to get involved with their employees, who provide such an important service to all our communities.”

Steiner obtained a degree in Accounting at the State University of Louisiana and a degree in Juris from the University of California, Los Angeles, according to the declaration.

Amber McRreynolds, president of the Board of Governors of the Postal Service, said in the statement that Steiner “is the right person to direct the postal service at this time” as the historical organization addresses the future with the budgetary challenges (in 2024, Bills reported).
