China’s commerce ministry has called on the US to lift tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum, stating the root cause of the problem is the US’s “unilateralist and protectionist behaviors”. The demand comes in response to a World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute panel finding that China had placed additional duties on some imports from the US.
