The notes in this collection were published in English between 1981 and 2000, approximately two decades ago. Except for the first note, which was written for an ILO seminar, they were written for different meetings of democratic organizations aimed at the issue of women.

Duration The last two decades, the rulers have intensified the oppressions about women, sometimes even when they speak in the name of women’s rights. The various tactics of the rulers have made the need for a democratic movement of women even more urgent. Therefore, Rupe’s readers and friends felt that these notes were still relevant and useful for those involved in struggles in social and class questions.

The translation of this collection was carried out, in general, by Jaya Sajal, who died at an early age on October 3, 2017. Other friends have also provided invaluable help to prepare the manuscript for translation. We thank you all deeply and we dedicate this publication to the memory of Jaya.
