After winning hearts at the Zlín International Film Festival, director Mehran Amrohi is ready to tell a sweet history about dreams, community courage and childhood with his film that he will soon launch, Chidiya. With just a few days until the film is released, manufacturers have now presented the trailer. Shit down to see it.

Chidiya follows the story of Shanu and Bua, two brothers who grew up in a narrow Chawl in Mumbai, whose dreams are much larger than their surroundings. When they decide to convert an abandoned scrap deposit into a Bádminton court, their little idea brings together a whole neighborhood: a trip full of pranks, hope and quiet victories.
Director Mehran Amrohi Shares, “Chidiya is a love letter to childhood resilience. It is about finding joy in scarcity, and how the imagination of children even turns the smallest spaces into worlds.

About the movie
With Vinay Pathak, Amruta Subhash, Inaamulhaq and the children actors Svar Kamble and Ayush Pathak, Chidiya gives life to a world where simple joys mean everything. The film, which will be distributed by Reliance Entertainment, is written and directed by Mehran Amrohi with music composed of Shailendra Barve.
Chidiya had its world premiere at the prestigious Zlín International Film Festival, the world’s largest children’s film festival. Since then, the film has won the best cinema and the best debut director, with selections on renowned platforms such as South Asia Iff (New York), the Cinekid projection club (Amsterdam) and several others.
Chidiya will be launched in selected cinemas on May 30, 2025.
