Ten days after the incident, the South East Division police tracked a 29 -year -old taxi driver who was fleeing after annoying a girl who walked home along with her friend late on the night of April 3 in Suddaguntepalya.

The defendant, identified as Santosh D., worked as a taxi driver in Brookefield and lived with his mother and younger brother in the Gulbarga neighborhood in Tilnagar. The defendant abused one of the girls and fled the scene, police said. The police had presented a Suo motu Case based on the images of the CCTV camera.

According to the police, the defendant was drunk, and the incident was captured by a CCTV chamber installed outside a house in the area. While the victim did not file a complaint, the owner of the house alerted the police after meeting the recordings.

Police analyzed images of more than 150 CCTV cameras to identify the defendant. The defendant fled to Hosur after CCTV images were widely shared on social media platforms. In Hosur, the defendant stayed at a friend’s house before boarding a bus to Kozhikode in Kerala.

The police tracked the defendant on Sunday at another friend’s house in Kozhikode.
