Two workers died when the mud gave way while they dug a channel to place drinking water pipes in Belagavi on April 16. The deceased comes from Gokak.
Basavaraj Sarave, 38, and Maruti Sarave, 20, or Patagondi’s village died after being caught under mud layers. Police, and fire and emergency staff could dig two bodies. Their bodies have a leg to the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences.
A worker managed to survive mud slide. Efforts were being made to rescue him.
The workers were digging a channel near the National Highway in Gandhi Nagar.
The work was commissioned by a private agency responsible for the 24 -hour water supply scheme in the city.
The officers of the Police Station of Maluti visited the place.
