Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to those who were killed in Jallianwala Bagh’s massacre on April 13, 1919, and said that his sacrifice was an “important turning point in the struggle for the freedom of India.”
“We recorded tribute to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh. The next generations will always remember their indomitable spirit. In fact, it was a dark chapter in the history of our nation. His sacrifice causes a great turning point in the freedom of freedom of India,” PM Modi.

Hundreds of people, including women and children, were brutally murdered by the orders of the British general Dyer. People had gathered in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, for a peaceful protest against Rowlatt’s law, a repressive law that allowed the British to judge the Indians without trial.
Several people died in the shot, since they could not escape the facilities, which only had a narrow exit.
