A Ghaziabad man, who directs online and off -line registration classes for physics, has approached the Superior Court of Uttarakhand, claiming that someone else was designated instead at the Kumaun of Nainital University, and had been teaching in the university team.

The man who approached the Court identified himself as Pawan Kumar Mishra.

In his plea, he mentioned that a PRMOD Kumar Mishra had been designated by the university team on the fraudulent basis in 2005, a report with The Times of India declared.

Pawan suspected the University’s law after receiving a WhatsApp message from an unknown number in November 2024, which claimed a hoax committed against him.

According to the report, Pawan, in his documents presented to the Court, claimed that the University appointed the wrong person, with the same initial name, PK Mishra, instead and allowed him to continue the work.

He claimed that he was selected as a physics professor at the University in 2005, but never recovered the letter from the appointment. Instead, he said that another person (PRMOD KUMAR MISHRA) had been appointed in his place.

Mishra approached RTI in this regard, that the Executive Council of the University had approved its appointment in February 2005, while the interviews for the position were carried out in January, the same year, according to the report.

The RTI application also revealed that a total of 58 candidates had requested the position, of which four were.

“The Executive Council recommended my name: Pawan Kumar Mishra, son of Inderjeet Mishra, and the result was published on February 28. The other three joined the same day, but they never contacted me,” the report told Pawan.

“The appointment letter was never sent to my client,” said Pawan’s lawyer.

On March 3 of that same year, a Corrigendum was issued by citing a “typification error”, thus replacing Pawan’s name with that of PRMOD, the report said.

On March 19, 2005, Premod joined the University as a professor.

According to the report, Pawan, in his application before the Court, also claimed that a botany teacher orchestrated the entire move when his daughter later married PRMOD. He affirmed that the measure was to help PRMOD obtain a position at the university.

Meanwhile, the Court presented matter 15 and would take the hearing on April 30. He also asked the Kumoun University to present records related to the appointment of the Faculty of 2005.
