On Friday, two children were rescued from a flame residential building in the Ahmedabad Khokhra area, after a woman passed them through a ladder balcony to two men on the floor below.
A video of the dramatic rescue has gone viral on social networks. The footage shows a thick black smoke in the background while the woman, standing with two children and another woman, carefully reduces children through the balcony of the stairs without any security equipment.
The men below, standing on the floor underneath, catch the children and put them safe.
Moments later, the same woman tries to go down through the narrow opening. He almost slips, but men quickly grab their legs and take it to a safe place.
According to the officials, at least 18 people were rescued after the fire broke out in the residential building of several floors on Friday afternoon.
The fire began around 3:30 pm and was controlled at 6:00 pm, according to the fire and emergency services of Ahmedabad (ASTAs).
No victims have been reported.
