Anvar’s unconditional support will be crucial in Nilambur, says Satheesan

The opposition leader VD Sataesan has said that the unconditional support of the leader of the Trinamool Congress and former MLA Anvar will help the united democratic front (UDF) to register a victory that hits the election of the Nilambur Assembly.

Going to the media in Tirur on Saturday, Mr. Sataesan said that the UDF had not begun discussions about the selection of candidates. However, he said that the UDF was prepared for the partial choice, and the UDF accepted the unconditional support of Mr. Anvar.

The Secretary General of the State of Congress, Aryadan Shoukath, and the president of the VS Joy District Congress Committee are the two prominent names that are currently considered for the candidacy in Nilambur. Mr. Sataesan said the final decision would be made after consulting with the constituents of UDF.

He said that the UDF would not be dissuaded by the Democratic Front of the Left (LDF) presenting any candidate. It is learned that LDF has been actively considering independent candidates for Nilambur. Names such as the U. Sharafali footballer and the superintendent of the Nilambur Shinas Babu Hospital are doing the rounds.

“The CPI (m) has not learned the lesson despite the bitter experience in Palakkad. Permit trying to obtain part of the Congress. Despite the Bruhaha they created, they collapsed to third position in Palakkad,” said the opposition leader.

Referring to the speech of the principal minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the secretary general of SNDP, Velajapally Natesan, as an “apostle of secularism” in the state, Mr. Sataesan said he marked the degeneration of the IPC (M).

He said the CPI (m) was stepping on the path of the BJP trying to divide two communities. “People are observing the CPI (M) and the BJP Hobnobbing with the same agenda. The prime minister is supporting Mr. Natesan to implement the BJP agenda justifying the hate speech of the latter in Malappuram,” he said.

Mr. Natesan, during a speech in Nilambur a few days ago, had said that the Ezhava community could not breathe freely in Malappuram, which was treated by another section of people like their land.

Mr. Sataesan said the government was not solving the problem of Munambam’s land with the aim of keeping two communities in Loggerheads. “That is BJP’s policy. We are dead against such a dangerous policy. We are against all kinds of hate campaigns,” he said.
