Almost 20% of the 2,859 positions sanctioned at the University of Cashmiro were vacancies as in February 2024, the university team said in response to a request submitted under the Law of Information Law (RTI), highlighting among the departments.

The request submitted by RTI activist based in Jammu Raman Kumar Sharma in February 2025 revealed that most vacancies are at the faculty level. This includes around 200 key positions of teachers, associated professors and assistant teachers, Besid 110 Junior Assistants.

Against the sanctioned force of 2,859 positions, 570 positions were vacancies as of February 29, 2024, said the central public information officer of the University of Cashmira, Ghulam Mohammed Wani in his response.

Wani, who is also an assistant registrar of the university, said there are 56 posts or sanctioned professors, but 47 are vacancies, while 91 of 120 associated teacher positions are not activated.

Similarly, only 291 positions of assistant teachers are full, leaving another 80 vacancies, he said, adding that against the sanctioned positions of seven directors, five remained vacancies.

As many Junior Assistant Posts of Axis 110, against the sanctioned force of 180, they have no staff, he said.

The RTI also revealed that the positions of the Dean of the College Development Council, Dean of Student Welfare, Academic Coordinator, Researcher, Editor and Lecturer, Documentation Officer, Editor-Cum-Osearch Assistant, additional also leabination and assistant or assistant.
