At least 6 militants arrested in Manipur’s Bishnupur

Six militants were arrested from different parts of Manipur in separate operations, police said on Saturday (April 12, 2025).

The Judies were made on Friday (April 11, 2025) from Bishnupur, Imphal East, Imphal West and the districts of Kangpokpi, they said.

A Kanglei Yawl Kanna Lup (Kykl/Sorepa) painting was arrested from Leimaram Mamang Leikai in Bishnupur. Leichombam Pakpi Devi (37), the arrested militant, was allegedly involved in extortion and recruiting young people in the proscribed group, police said.

An active member of the prohibited Kangleipk Communist Party (KCP-Noyon) was arrested checkon crossing in the Imphal East district.

Skin Rom Sunder Singh (39) was invaded in the transport of weapons and ammunition and extorting stores located in the Mantripukhri area, police said.

A kcp militant (PWG) was arrested from Urup Awang Leikai in Imphal East, while another attire member was caught by Lei Inge Maning Leikai in Imphal West. Both were involved in small extreme companies.

An active Kykl painting was caught by Lamlong Bazaar in Imphal East. He was identified as Moirangthem Suranjoy MEITEI (31), police said.

A PREPAK (PRO) box, identified as Angom Surjit Singh, was arrested by Phayeng Sabal Leikai in Imphal West.

In another operation, security forces arrested a man while being extorting the driver’s money in NH-2 in the Kangpokpi district. He was identified as Hensonpiek Vaiphei (23), who had his leg in a relief camp in Churacandpur.

Approximately a large number of deferred militants or outfolds have been arrested both in the Imphal Valley controlled by Meiti and in the districts of the hills dominated by Kuki for the charges of Extrade to the locals, mainly small businesses, mainly prevailing of the prevalence.
