Intelligence agencies have informed News18 that some prohibited terrorist organizations are pressing the Bangladesh government, with the aim of radicalizing young minds.

If there was a presence of strangers in Murshidabad’s violence, it is a key question for researchers. There have been about 200 trials after Murshidabad witnessed violent protests against the WAQF 2025 amendment bill last week, in which three people died while several, including police officers, were injured.
Violence saw a group involving the police on National Highway 12 with stone fight and attacks, while another group participated in vandalism in Dhuliyan, Samsergunj and Suti.

The attackers had mostly under 20 years. Manirul Islam, MLA of Farakka, told News18: “Most of the children who attacked, I do not know them. What I can see clearly is that they are all under 20 years.”
Given the proximity of the area to the international border and the volatile situation there, this violence is a national security concern. A superior officer tolerated News18: “There is no doubt that some strangers entered, either from a different district or on the other side of the border. We are investigating this. On the other hand, TMCS Kunal Ghosh states: “This is a larger plot, it definitely planned to defame to Bengala. Some agencies exploited lagoons on the border, facilitated the incident and helped the perpetrators to escape.”
The TMC, therefore, has criticized BSF.
The State Police are investigating and will present its report to the Court on April 16, and the central agencies also monitor developments in the developments in Murshidabad.
