Murshidabad was shaken by violent protests against the WAQF law this week, in which three people were killed while several others were played. The central forces have been deployed in the district.

The situation in Western Bengala remains tense after violence in Murshidabad on the WAQF amendment law, which led to the murder of at least three people and has left several other wounds.

Around 8 border security force companies, together with around 1,000 police personnel, have been deployed in the district. The officers ranging from the level of DG to the additional SP have been designated in the area that witnessed violent clashes during the weekend. However, no advertising incident was reported last night.

This occurs after the Superior Court of Calcutta intervened and ordered the deployment of the central forces not only in Murshidabad but also in any other place where such violent incidents take place. Criticism The Government of Mamata Banerjee on the delayed response, the Superior Court described the current “serious and volatile” situation. He also ordered the state government to submit a detailed report before April 17.

Western Bengal Violence: Main Points

  1. The riots were used earlier this week and intensified on Friday and the next day, since violent incidents were reported, including the violence of the mafia, the cause caused and the police in many parts of the district.
  2. Violent protests were reported in several areas of the district, even in Samserganj, Suti and Dhuliyan, where the mobs set up vehicles, attacked houses and faced the police. Police have arrested about 130 people so far in relation to violence.
  3. Three people lost their lives in violence on Friday night. The deceased people were identified as Renagobindo Das, 65, and his son Chandan Das, 40, who were supposedly dragged from his home and killed in Samserganj. Another man, Ezaz Ahmed, 25, died or an injury in the bullet in Suti.
  4. Several police personnel were also injured in the violent clashes.
  5. The Superior Court of Calcutta intervened in the midst of violence and ordered the deployment of central forces to restore law and order when clashes entered their second day yesterday.
  6. The governor of Western Bengal, CV Ananda Bose, welcomed the order of the Court, stating that it was necessary to restore peace in the State.
  7. The BJP has affirmed that the people of the Hindu community, including women and girls, have begun to leave Dhuliyan by boat to take refuge in the village of Parlalpur in Baishnabnagar.
  8. The Minister of the Union and the head of BJP of BJP of the West, Sukanta Majumdar, also said that several Dhuliyan families had been forced to leave their homes in the midst of violence.
