Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Tuesday (April 15, 2025) accused the main minister of Western Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, or “supporting and giving the free river undershots by the name of secularism.”

The UP CM thanked the Judiciary for deploying central forces to protect Hindu communities in Bengal. “We are grateful to the Honorable Court for intervening and guaranteeing the safety of innocent citizens,” he said.
Questioning the silence of opposition political parties such as Congress and the Samajwadi (SP) party, the UP CM accused them of silently supporting antisocial elements. “The Congress, the Samajwadi party, remained silent. Instead of condemning violence, they are offering auctioned support. Anyone who glorifies what happened in Bangladesh should simply go there. Why be a burden on the floor of India?”
Mr. Adityanath thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Interior Minister, Amit Shah, for approving the Waqf amendment law. He said the law will stop the illegal occupation of the land for the poor and allow the government to use such lands to build schools, hospitals, universities and houses.
