The compliance address visited the house of a man here to perform a possible search for violation of the currency rules after he claimed to have imported a dog of RS 50 million rupees.
However, it was discovered that the statement was false.
The sources told PTI that the officials of the federal probe agency found that the man “had no means” to buy such an expensive canine, and such reports were “simply created” for a possible participation in social networks.

The dog, whose images also circulated widely on social networks, was owned by their neighbor and was not worth “not even a lakh (or rupees),” they said.
