The BJP in the municipality of Palakkad has been divided on the issue of appointing its new Founder’s Skills Development Center differently after the founder of Rashtriya Sanayamsevak Sangh (RSS) KB Hedgegenar. A section of party leaders in the municipality is from the opinion that the municipal authorities appointed the center after the Hedecy Sea is the permission of the RSS-BJP leadership.
But the municipal authorities said they would continue to appoint the center after HedgegeWar. The municipal vice president E. Krishnadas said that this would not be a change in the plans of the municipality.
He said it was the discretionary authority of the mutual president to decide on the name of the training center. The decision was not tasks after discussions in previous meetings of the Council, he said.
The Youth Congress and DyFI workers had protested and spoiled the function of placing stones of the Foundation for the Training Center held here on Friday. Police had to use force to eliminate protesters. The Youth Congress protested a banana tree in the place where the base stone for the training center was placed.
The Congress on Saturday filed a police complaint against the president of the Eastern District of BJP, Prasanth Sivan, for threatening Rahul Mamkotathil, MLA. Mr. Sivan had threatened Friday that the BJP would not allow the MLA to put his foot in Palakkad.
Mr. Mamkotathil reiterated here on Saturday that he would continue to speak against RSS and his community hatred, as long as there was breathing in his body. He said he would be legally prosecuted against the movement to appoint the training center after the RSS leader.
The BJP executive member, KK Southern, described Congress and Dyfi as an antidemocratic. He said that Jawaharlal Nehru had invited the RSS to the Republic Day Parade after the 1962 War with China. He said it was the Government of Congress that presented a condolence resolution in Parliament when the second Sarsanghchalak MS Golwalkar of the RSS died in 1973.
Mr. Southern asked if the CPI (m) would be willing to abandon the projects that he implements in Kerala on behalf of the RSS Dandayal Upadhyaya leader.
The president of the District Congress, A. Thankappan, said it was inappropriate to appoint the training center after Hedgegewar. Hey asked the municipality to retire from the measure considering the anger of the people about it. He said the BJP was losing its moral terrain, and that was visible in its tasks of March to the Congress office.
The senior leader of CPI (M) and former deputy or Palakkad Nn Krishnadas woke up why the BJP has abandoned the name of the first first main prime minister of that party, Ab Vajpayee, when he wanted to appoint a noble company after his political leader.
He alleged that the BJP had so much subservice to the RSS. “This controversy is the best example of that servitude,” said Mr. Krishnadas, who describes the movement to name the center after Hedgewar as a political representation.
