The Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party on Saturday (April 12, 2025) accused the West Bengal Prime Minister, Mamata Banerjee, to encourage violence directed against Hindus within the State, allegedly occurring under the guys of protests.

Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, BJP’s national spokesman, Pradep Bhandari, said that although the approval of the WAQF amendment bill for Parliament had generated a “wave of happiness” throughout India, apart from Be Bengy Diffy, “peaceful protesters,” said Ms. Banerjee had transformed the state, “the land of Swami Vivekananda, Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Rabindranath Tagore”, in a “appeasement laboratory.”

“Everything is peaceful in neighboring Assam and other parts of the country, but violence is happening in West Bengal because Mamata Banerje supports it,” said Mr. Bhandari. Hi, he also involved Mrs. Banerjee’s near assistant, Siddiqullah Chowdhury, for his supposed role in the events.

Mr. Bhandari also claimed specific instances of inaction: “… when a radical mafia attacks Hindus in places like Malda, Murshidabad, Nadia and Jahangirpur, specifically, the police who stay with permanent load remains” “

To affirm that no police action was tasks against the people involved in violence in Murshidabad, and claiming that previous intelligence reports were available for his government, Mr. Bhandari held Mrs. Banerjee directly responsible. It emphasizes that law and order are a constitutional state subject under the scope of the prime minister.

He claimed that a public statement made by Mrs. Banerjee after April 5, in which he expressed his opposition to the WAQF bill (amendment), was interpreted by extremist groups as tacit support. “A message was sent to all the radical elements in Western Bengal that I was supporting them,” Bhandari claimed.
