The Superior Bombay Court dismissed the appeals of the members of the Chotta Rajan gang in the case of double murder of Bhendi Bazaar 2010.

Mohammad Ali Sheikh and Pranay Rane were sentenced to life imprisonment. They were sentenced under sections of murder, attempted murder, criminal conspiracy and relevant sections of the Arms Law.

According to the case of prosecution, the shot took place on February 13, 2010. Four people had come to the place where the Dawood assistant, Asif Khan, was sitting in the choli Phol that fell within the limits of the JJ Marg police station and opened fire against Khan.

In addition to Khan, three more people were injured in the shot. While Khan managed to escape from the place, Shakeel Modak, the personal secretary of the Congress leader, Bhai Jagtap, and his friend Asif Qureshi, who had gone to know Khan, suffered serious injuries and died in the spot.

It was alleged that the coup was ordered by Acto Uud de Rjan, since Khan was a very close Dawood.

Police arrested Mohammed Ali John Mohammed Sheikh and Pranay Manhahar Rane, two of the alleged assailants, on October 23, 2010.
