The anti -narcotic wing of the central crimes branch arrested a 25 -year civil engineer from Kerala on Monday and, according to the reports, recovered 3.5 kilograms of hydroponic ganja worth ₹ 4.5 million rupees of it.
According to the reports, the defendant, identified as Jiju Prasad, was caught with his hands in the dough while delivering drugs in Electronic City. The defendant worked in a private company and lived in an apartment in Bommasandra. The defendant told the police that he was obtaining the drugs of his contact, he identified Ashwin Samuel, who is currently fleeing.
The defendant had a lot of customers, to whom he had added to a WhatsApp group, where he backed away the orders. He used to deliver drugs through the “falling location” method, where he used to keep drugs in an isolated public place and share their client location in WhatsApp and then take the payment online. The fall location method is the most common method used by street vendors to avoid miscarriage of the police. The defendant used to sell each gram of hydroponic ganja for a price of ₹ 12,000. He would carry drugs full on plastic covers and carry them in his backpack. The customer list is huge, mostly consist of IT employees who live in the electronic city and its surroundings of Bommasandra, police said. Police are now attentive to Samuel, who is Kerala’s drug source. Police are also exploring Kerala connection in drugs, since many street vendors are operating between Kerala and Karnataka. In an unrelated case, a police team from the Areekode station in the Malappuram or Kerala district assaulted an apartment and arrested a Ugandesa citizen for selling MDMA to his clients through local street vendors operating from Bengaluru, last week. The defendant of Uganda, Nakter Teopista, 30, was arrested from the electronic city. The raid was followed by the judgment of two local street vendors earlier last week that revealed the drug source. After increasing the drug dealer of drug seller, the Kerala police have increased security and the controls have increased at the entry and exit points.
In another case, the police arrested a Nigerian citizen and, according to the reports, recovered 1 kg or MDMA crystals worth 2 million rupees of him, carrying the total seizure to ₹ 6.5 million rupees in narcotics in the last week. CCB officials assaulted a house in Begur and arrested the defendant, identified as Christian S., 44, for selling MDMA. The defendant had come to India with a visiting visa in 2012 and stayed longer to sell drugs. The officials reserved it under the case of NDPS and alerted Frro officials to initiate their deportation process.
